Is there any possibilities? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?

two years ago I went to a hospital due to an accident. It cost was $980. It should be covered by my AIG health insurance, but they never paid for it. Finally, the hospital reported my bedts to collection agancy.

I am now going to pay for the medical bills myself. The hospital claimed when I pay the bills-they will help me report to the collection agancy that the medical bills is paid.

will I still have bad credits. I have no other debts because I don't have credit cards. Is there any possibilities that claim to the collection agency that-- it was not my fault? How can I improve my credit?

Thank youIs there any possibilities? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
It might take some time before your credit score improves, but it will. Once you pay the bill, be sure you get proof from the hospital that your debt is paid in full. That way, you can inform the credit bureaus in case the hospital doesn't. I believe you can also add an explanatory note to your credit file about this situation. Once you've paid the debt, you can include the explanation that your insurance was supposed to pay it and that you finally did once you realized that the insurance wasn't going to pay.

By the way, if you truly believe these costs should have been covered by your insurance policy, you should write to the Department of Insurance in your state and see if they can help you.Is there any possibilities? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
Like i said the last time you asked this question. The debt is yours. You are the one responsible for the bill to the hospital.

You signed a paper at the hospital that basically said that you are responsible for this bill Period.

Your fight is with the insurance company.

And yes it is a black mark on your credit.
If the hospital has sold the debt to a collection agency, they no longer have any say in it. You will need to deal with the collection agency.

Bargain with them for a ';paid in full'; report to the credit bureaus in exchange for payment - but get their commitment IN WRITING before you pay. In fact, handle all communication with them in writing only.
To find out specifically what you must do to raise your score, you can order your score report from all three national credit bureaus. In addition to your score%26lt;!--you'll get your credit report, an indication of how your score ranks nationally and an explanation of how you can boost your standing.

In order to improve your credit score, it's important to know where you stand currently. Despite all the media attention given to free credit reports--%26gt;you still have to pay to find out your credit score, the three-digit number ranging from 300 to 850 that is the key to your borrowing costs.
It will remain on your credit as a negative for 7 years. Unless, somehow you can convince the credit bureaus that is was no fault of your own. Although, I doubt that is possible. Live and learn, it took a long time of your knowing that this debt was due - and not being paid - for it to go into collections. Offer to pay it off in full in exhange for whomever is reporting the negative to have it removed, that may work. (But get it in writing if you do).
The collection agency does not care if it was not your fault. They are vultures who will not give up. I have heard people complain that the collection agency continued to contact them after the debt was paid directly to the original company. TI would file a claim with your insurance company.
call that ins comp and ask them why they havent not paid that claim and let them know that it has gone in to collections and that if it was covered by the ins then it needs to be paid because it is harming your credit. Having the same problem with tricare. And it has been since last feb! Good luck
